Intern — Web Design — NYBrief description of job dutiesWith supervision, make improvements to existing GUI components. Create all component graphical and multimedia elements for assigned projects. Work with supervisor, manager, and director to establish prevailing visual style for a site, product or service, and architect the commerce applications. UI design and functionality. Perform unit and integration testing before hand-off to operating teams prior to release. JSP, HTML, Javascript, CSS knowledge required. Qualifications:College level web design and programming classes or equivalent work experience. Must be a proficient web developer, with good working knowledge of JSP, JavaScript, html/xhtml, advanced CSS, and other web technologies. Experience integrating with back-end databases and applications a plus. Java and database experience desired. Experience designing for the web, including expertise with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Eclipse, and Acrobat. Knowledge of current browser features and how to design pages accordingly. Must be able to work independently from requirements specifications. Must possess good organizational skills to participate in project development and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers, in-house staff, and technical professionals. Must have an enthusiasm about the web as a communications medium that is reflected in knowledge of emerging technologies and their potential.
